Cameras have been installed on Fargona yuli street in Tashkent to monitor traffic on the dedicated lanes reserved for public transport. This was announced as part of the work on developing the capital's transport infrastructure.
The cameras have been installed on a 6-kilometer section of the road, on the dedicated 'A' lanes in both directions. Cameras monitoring traffic on bus lanes are also being gradually put into operation on other streets of the capital.
The dedicated lanes are intended to allow buses to run on schedule without getting stuck in traffic jams and to deliver passengers to their destinations on time.
According to reports, a single bus can carry more than 50 passengers at a time. Therefore, other vehicles entering the bus lanes can hinder the movement of public transport and cause delays for many passengers.
It is recalled that from 06:00 to 23:00, vehicles without the appropriate permit are prohibited from driving on the dedicated 'A' lanes.
