The key facts

  • New gas condensate field “Borisoy” discovered in Shurtan, Kashkadarya region
  • Commercial inflow of 300–400 thousand cubic meters of gas and condensate per day
  • Gas supply to consumers planned from October 15; second exploratory well by year-end

A new gas condensate field called “Borisoy” has been discovered in Shurtan, Guzar district of the Kashkadarya region.

During well testing, specialists obtained a commercial inflow of gas and condensate of 300–400 thousand cubic meters per day, Uzbekneftegaz reports.

Exploratory drilling was started on August 5 by the company “Uzneftburgilash ishlari”. The well was drilled to a depth of 3,159 meters. Tests showed an inflow of hydrocarbons from carbonate deposits at a depth of 2,842–3,001 meters.

Currently, specialists are studying the properties of the productive layers and assessing the field’s potential. After testing is completed, the gas is planned to be sent for processing for subsequent supply to consumers from October 15.

By the end of the year, a second exploratory well is planned to be drilled at the site to study the geological structure and hydrocarbon potential of the field in more detail.
