It has become known which agencies Erkinjon Turdimov will oversee

First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Preschool and School Education Erkinjon Turdimov will coordinate the activities of a number of ministries, agencies and regional khokimiyats.

The corresponding list was approved by a presidential decree dated October 9.

Turdimov has been assigned the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the Ministry of Health, the Academy of Sciences, the Youth Affairs Agency, as well as relevant agencies and inspectorates.

The coordination will also include certain areas of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' work related to preventing the spread of narcotic and psychotropic substances, as well as harassment and violence in educational institutions.

Together with the State Security Service, Turdimov will participate in efforts to prevent the involvement of youth in extremist and other harmful movements. Jointly with the National Guard, events are planned to promote patriotism and a healthy lifestyle.

The list also includes the deputy chairpersons of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan and deputy khokims of regions and Tashkent responsible for relevant matters.

A secretariat for education, science and health issues has been created within the structure of the Cabinet of Ministers with a staff of 12 positions. Five positions will be formed from the Cabinet's social development department, and another seven through optimization of the staff of the reorganized education ministries.

The Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with approving Turdimov's functional duties and the regulation on the new secretariat within two weeks.

Recall that Turdimov was appointed first deputy prime minister — minister of preschool and school education on October 9. Before that, he served as khokim of Syrdarya region.
